Anyone wishing to make a positive impact on where they live is being encouraged to sign up for a Clyde Climate Change workshop.

During the interactive workshop, participants will learn and discuss how trees and woodlands can help protect and improve where we all live.

Councillor Norman Rae, the Chair of the council’s Climate and Sustainability Committee, said: “Climate change and biodiversity loss is impacting our landscape, communities and wildlife.

“Taking part in this free workshop is a great opportunity to find out what you can do to help protect and improve where we live by understanding the importance that planting trees and creating and improving our woodlands is for wildlife and our own wellbeing.”

The workshop will take around two to 2.5 hours. During that time, you will help design the climate action activities that can be undertaken in your community.

You will also discuss why we need to plant so many trees for the future and what are the targets as well as what has already been achieved in Blantyre thanks to all the climate action work that has already been undertaken.

So why not sign up and share your ideas and help shape the improvements to improve your environment – and grab a coffee, tea or snacks at the same time.

To take part please sign up here for your Blantyre Future Forests in Communities tickets at Blantyre Soccer Academy on Friday 13 November from 10.30am to 1pm.

More information is also available at the Blantyre future forests webpage.

Clyde Climate Forest is also wanting resident’s input into where to plant trees in the Douglas Water and Rigside area – why not pop along and meet the team at the Douglas Water Golf Club from 11am – 2pm on Saturday 28 November – if you can’t make it along on the day you can email the team here Clyde Climate Forest
